Tinta was founded on the principle that fashion does not have to be exploitative. As consumers, we deserve better than products made through the exploitation of others. All Tinta apparel is made in partnership with WRAP, BSCI, or SGS-certified/audited factories, union shops, or local mom-and-pop businesses. This means that our garments are produced in sweatshop-free environments-- no exceptions. 

Our upcycled products are purchased second-hand -- generally direct from individuals -- and then either painted or studded in-house. Extending the lifespan of an item by upcycling it is a great way to produce merchandise sustainably!

We also know the best way to improve the lifecycle of an ethically made garment is to buy and sell it second-hand, so we've introduced Pre-Loved, our buy-back program. Send us your pre-loved Tinta garments in any condition, you'll get 20% back in store credit, and we'll resell or recycle it for you! Learn more about Pre-Loved here. 

We implemented Shopify Planet to offer 100% carbon-neutral shipments. We pay a small fee on every order our customers place, and Shopify Planet offsets the carbon emissions created by mailing out packages on our behalf. They do this by removing atmospheric carbon with solutions like reforestation and soil carbon storage.

Additionally, we use mailers made of recycled plastic and avoid using single-use plastic packaging materials as much as possible.
